Reinforced mounting points designed to counteract the increased lateral forces generated by wide-track tires on uneven terrain. Constructed from premium thin-walled steel tubing, offering superior field-repairability and fatigue resistance compared to aluminum. The geometry keeps panniers far enough from the tire sidewalls to prevent mud-drag and tire rub in extreme conditions. The Top Rack FAT is a specialized evolution of the modular series. When navigating soft surfaces like snow or sand, the trike's frame and rack are subjected to unique low-frequency vibrations and high-torque stresses. Steintrikes addresses this by using a rigid, multi-triangulated design that ties directly into the heavy-duty swingarm.
Unlike standard racks that are simply "widened," the FAT version accounts for the increased radius of high-volume tires. This ensures that the center of gravity remains as low as possible while still providing enough "mud-room" for debris. It is the gold standard for riders who require a "bomb-proof" setup for transcontinental off-road travel.
